Joslyn Car Classic 2012
I can honestly say I’ve never been to a Mid_America Regional event where I didn’t have a great time. This year’s Joslyn Castle Car Classic weekend is no exception.
To kick off the weekend, Saturday evening Arthur and Glenda Weaver hosted a cocktail party in their home. With drinks in hand and great selection of hors d'oeuvres we welcomed a few new faces; Ernie Ruet d'Auteuil, and Jim Lantz. Ernie has quite a sable of our favorite car make, and Jim is looking to acquire both a Cloud and Corniche.
Plus we had a chance catch up with old friends; Bob & Nancy Andrews, Steve & Martha Davis, Herb & Carole Dewey, Mark and Donna Ibenthal, Ed Jelinek, Lisle Kauffman, and of course our party hosts Arthur & Glenda Weaver
A break in this summer's oven like heat gave everyone a chance to move outside to take a peek at Crewe built cars driven to the party; Lisle’s award winning Silver Wraith II, Herb’ original ’67 Silver Shadow, and Bob’s Silver Cloud II
Later in the evening it was off to Biaggi’s restaurant for dinner, complements of the Mid-America RROC. The “Wine” room reserved for us was a great setting for good food, drink, and a good time… so much so, they had to close the doors to keep the noise out of the main room 😉
Sunday we were treated to another beautiful day at Joslyn Castle for the car show. Exhibitors from our club included Lisle/Silver Wraith II, Bob/Cloud II, and Doug Peterson/Cloud I. Nearly everyone that was in town for the dinner showed up to support our members in the show, but also see some exceptional automobiles;
Thank you all that participated, and if you missed this one…. Mark your calendar for Salisbury House, September 8th & 9th in Des Moines.
Salisbury House fields the most impressive display of automobiles of any show in the Mid-West, it costs nothing to exhibit, and exhibitors are treated to dinner and other perks…
Besides Steve and Martha Davis really know how to throw a party 🙂
